Mr. Milton

Here are a few update pictures of the new little fuzzy butt. He has been good for us all. The old fat cats are acting more like kittens and we have a new snuggle buddy. I was very sick of my old couches that absorbed the furr and he also inspired me to get new furniture. Love it!

Here's our little Milton checking out the new BIG chair. Our new chair and couch are like sitting on a Teddy Bear's lap. Huge squishy and comfy. I think he approves :o)

I'm trying to catch up a bit on the photo documentation of our lives and at least get the big camera downloaded. I tend to keep up fairly well with my little Sony camera, but the big camera usually stays at home because its a pain to lug around. Therefore, it is mostly filled with kitty and squirrel pictures and does not get uploaded as much. Here are some of my favorites from this past summer. (I will then post some Milton updates.)

God knew to send me black fuzz!

So, we had a couple people over last night for supper and were sitting around the campfire making smores afterwards. I was admittedly not the life of the party and my brain was pretty much thinking "bed...sleepy...please!" the whole time (no offense to the couple that was here, I was just tired!) Suddenly Allison says, "hey, there's a cat over here" and we look to up see a little cat shaped shadow run about 6 feet up the tree and cling there. When we tried to say hi, he ran down and scooted along the fence into the back of the yard. We figured he was gone until about 2 minutes later, he came sneaking back up to us. To spare you the play by play, he decided we weren't so scary people, and we had kitty food which was a plus :o)

Today is luckily my day and it has been absorbed with making sure our new little friend is taken care of. We have named him Milton and have put out the word to the local veterinarians that he is at our house. We took him in for a routine checkup today and he seems to be a healthy 4 month-ish old little boy. A couple of fleas, but otherwise he seems healthy. We are waiting for the lab work to make sure has nothing our other boys can catch before we consider letting him out of the basement bathroom.

Personality wise, I am not sure he can get enough kisses or snuggles. The vet never got a listen to his heart because he refused to stop purring...they even tried dipping his paw in water and having him sniff alcohol just to see if it was phase him enough to stop his motor. He didn't seem to care a bit and went right on purring and rubbing and kissing everyone. Needless to say, I'm in love. If his owners come along that's great, but part of me hopes we don't get a phone call!

Yippee Skippee

I believe every day that is not taken up by work ought to be filled with treasure hunting or scrapbooking. Due to this, I should probably start putting down Goodwill in the alternate address space on any legal forms. Thanks to them, thriftsales, and a antique mall or two, there are generally a few dust bunnies or laundry heaps that go neglected on the weekends. Its a small price to pay for happiness and sanity. I thought I would share a few of the "yippee" finds this week...its much more fun when others know about the cool stuff you've acquired.

Find #1: Watercolor painted engraving of Larkspur! Print plus frame I picked up at a church sale = $2.25

Find #2: New drinking glass for the bathroom = $0.25

Find #3: Norman Rockwell print at an antique mall in Delavan, WI plus frame I had picked up at Goodwill last year = $6.00

Find #4: Sweet little metal and vinyl table for the future tykes (someday) = $1.50.

Find #5: Pretty grandma pin = $0.10

Find #6: Aqua melmac divided bowl = $3.00

IKEA Rat's long lost cousins come to stay

Some of you may have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ikea Rat. He is our loyal friend who house sits most days and keeps an eye on the kitties. In return, we take him on vacation with us (when we remember to pack him!) and he gets to be a little more worldly. Recently, we had the good fortune of finding some members of his family and they have agreed to come stay with us too. Here are a few pictures of the happy reunion :o)

So I need a distraction...

This is the end of my first week in my new office. So far so good, but my brain is craving something a little lighter than charts, labs, and all the unpleasant things that life brings to good people. Therefore, I am dusting off my page.

I think Dr. Tinycat should cover for me tomorrow...

Thoughts for today

A low tooth to tattoo ratio is usually not a good thing.

Interstate drivers are not intimidated by driving 85mph and weaving between semis, but a little snow flake blows by and they stomp on the breaks. Weanies!

Why is it that patients are suprised when their doctor shops at Walmart and then they (the patients) like to talk about their marital problems and bowel movements in the pasta aisle?

I'm pretty sure that most women don't come home to a find an MP15 added to their dining room table's center piece.

I believe that dirty dishes mate and multiply while I'm at work...its the only explaination.
