So, we had a couple people over last night for supper and were sitting around the campfire making smores afterwards. I was admittedly not the life of the party and my brain was pretty much thinking "bed...sleepy...please!" the whole time (no offense to the couple that was here, I was just tired!) Suddenly Allison says, "hey, there's a cat over here" and we look to up see a little cat shaped shadow run about 6 feet up the tree and cling there. When we tried to say hi, he ran down and scooted along the fence into the back of the yard. We figured he was gone until about 2 minutes later, he came sneaking back up to us. To spare you the play by play, he decided we weren't so scary people, and we had kitty food which was a plus :o)Thursday, September 30, 2010
God knew to send me black fuzz!

Yippee Skippee
I believe every day that is not taken up by work ought to be filled with treasure hunting or scrapbooking. Due to this, I should probably start putting down Goodwill in the alternate address space on any legal forms. Thanks to them, thriftsales, and a antique mall or two, there are generally a few dust bunnies or laundry heaps that go neglected on the weekends. Its a small price to pay for happiness and sanity. I thought I would share a few of the "yippee" finds this week...its much more fun when others know about the cool stuff you've acquired.
Find #3: Norman Rockwell print at an antique mall in Delavan, WI plus frame I had picked up at Goodwill last year = $6.00
Find #4: Sweet little metal and vinyl table for the future tykes (someday) = $1.50.
Find #1: Watercolor painted engraving of Larkspur! Print plus frame I picked up at a church sale = $2.25
Find #2: New drinking glass for the bathroom = $0.25

IKEA Rat's long lost cousins come to stay
Some of you may have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ikea Rat. He is our loyal friend who house sits most days and keeps an eye on the kitties. In return, we take him on vacation with us (when we remember to pack him!) and he gets to be a little more worldly. Recently, we had the good fortune of finding some members of his family and they have agreed to come stay with us too. Here are a few pictures of the happy reunion :o)
